The Department For Transport (DFT) has released the code of practice for Body Scanners, what’s in it?

1. You can request a member of the same sex views the scan

2. The screener (who views the image) must not be able to see you

3. The officer who sees you, must not see the scanned image

4. All images must be destroyed immediately after scan

5. In EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES an additional appropriate officer (same sex, not attending officer) can view the image

6. There must be no method of copying or transferring of images

7. You must not be selected on personal characteristics
   (Gender, Age, Race, Ethnicity)

8. You will be selected according to unreleased protocols

So we will be selected according to protocols which will remain unreleased, anybody can be pulled out of the crowd for full body scanning and they wont be able to tell you why YOU have been selected for scanning. Not only that but these guidelines all but rule out profiling. We all suffer with the scans, but they are unable to select for scanning those most likely to be terrorists? All the terrorists in recent attacks have been of a similar gender, age, race/ethnic origin.

Don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying there even is a danger, I believe it all to be bullshit, there is only an attack when they want an attack, and there is no reason for people to be scared of people of middle eastern people or muslims on their flight (Unless they’re being led aboard by a man in a suit! RUN!).  We didn’t even have an attack on planes in the UK.
It was tube and bus remember? Don’t see much more security there.. do you?

But lets play along and say that islamic terrorists want to blow us out the air, why not target people who look like islamic fundamentalists for scanning and not Mrs Smith, middle aged, white lady from Norwich.

If the powers that be are going to insist on infringing our personal liberty and right to privacy by spending millions of pounds on full body scanners, isn’t it tragic that young women, children, the elderly, and other groups who clearly pose no risk, will be inconvenienced and lose dignity, all so the DFT don’t appear racist?

The whole thing is racist … to the human race.

It’s all just more and more …
