This follows on as an update from “Body Scanner Bullshit #1″ – For reasons why you should refuse to accept the body scanner bullshit and stand up for your rights, to not be treated like a terrorist and virtually strip searched. Read that first.
Ministers are ignoring human rights advice and have RULED OUT the option of pat-down searches as an alternative choice to the full naked body scan treatment. The Guardian / No Scan, No Flight reports BBC
Heathrow and Manchester airports started operating advanced imaging technology today at noon. Birmingham will follow in a month. Gatwick have confirmed they will be installing full body scanners.
“If a passenger is selected for scanning and declines, they will not be permitted to fly,” spits Lord Adonis.
Religious or ethnic profiling has been ruled out, they are instead looking at behaviour. Which means it’s not just “muslim looking” folk who are going to have to worry. WE. ARE. ALL. SUSPECT.
How will you react if they pull you out of the que for scanning?
What about if they pull your partner out of the que?
Your child?
Yes, children, the government has overturned rules that exempted UNDER-18s from the scan. Despite reports that the scans break child pornography laws. Is this fair treatment of a “free” people? Of you and your children?
The scare tactics have started already as they try to scare us stiff into passively accepting this bullshit invasion of our privacy, of our rights as human beings, the people who elected them, the people they work for. Either with the thought of you being blown to kingdom come or of, *GASP* shock upon horror, being denied the right to board the flight you paid for. IMAGINE the embarrassment as you are told if you don’t go through the machine, you wont get to the sunshine, you will let all the people who are flying with you down, you’ll lose your money…. Best go through the scanner, what can it hurt, let your principles down and give in to the security bullshit. STRIP BITCH STRIP! DANCE MONKEY DANCE!
We live in a country where a motorist is fined for blowing his nose, at a standstill, handbrake on.
We live in a country where 4,289 activities have been made illegal since 1997, more than one a day!
We live in a country where naked scanners are compulsory at our largest airports.
When are people going to stand up to this and say ENOUGH!? Instead of “Oh well, if it makes the flight safer, yeah, I’d go through it, course” “Oh well, you can’t put a price on safety.” Can’t you? How about a government agents hand up every single bumhole, every morning? We all walk around naked and government agents have the right to pin you down and probe your anus, without consent, to check if there’s a bomb inside you. Would that be a fair price for your safety? Would you feel safe then? You fucking SLAVE.
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Update 02/02/10 : UK – The department for transport (Dft) ordered all airports to install them before the summer holiday season, stating they must be in place “in the coming months”.

I was told by the department of transport that they don’t care about morality, safety comes first. You picked the perfect word to follow body-scanner.. it really is a load of bullshit… put a guy with a muslim name on a plane, plant some liquids on him, everyone comes to the rescue, within the week the scanners are introduced at £80,000 of our tax money going into the pockets of the leaders and their cooperate friends.. well done you filthy government, Mission Accomplished. You just can’t stop making us more n more sick of your crap. There are no f***** terrorists, the real terrorists are you terrorising us like this. We’re more likely to be killed at home than in an aeroplane. When will the naive racist public realise all this media propaganda and listen to common sense? It’s really not that difficult. Once a great country UK and USA with our ways and now it’s seriously a pile of dog shit. thanks to Bush and Blair.

As part of the gargantuan fraud being peddled by the corporate media in service of the government’s agenda to subject everyone to degrading naked body scans in airports, apologists for the devices claimed that people’s genitals would be blurred out to save embarrassment.
This has now proven to be a fraudulent con designed to keep people in the dark about the fact that the body scanners DO produce crisp images of your naked body and they DO allow TSA thugs to see intricate details of your genitals.
A report from October 2008, when the naked body scanners were first being introduced at Melbourne Airport in Australia, detailed how the X-ray backscatter devices don’t work properly unless the genitals of people going through them are visible.
“It will show the private parts of people, but what we’ve decided is that we’re not going to blur those out, because it severely limits the detection capabilities,” said Office of Transport Security manager Cheryl Johnson.
“It is possible to see genitals and breasts while they’re going through the machine,” she admitted.
In addition, London Guardian journalist Helen Carter writes today that the scanners produce an image which make “genitals eerily visible,” after she attended a trial run at Manchester Airport earlier this week.
The aggressive campaign on behalf of governments and the media to sell the public on invasive body scanners has been accompanied by the reassurance that the devices do not show details of genitals, an obvious attempt to counter the fact that the machines do represent a virtual strip search as well as violating laws against child pornography.
Images accompanying articles about the scanners, as well as TV news reports, blurred out sensitive areas, creating the impression that this is also what officials in airports saw, misleading the public into thinking that their private parts would not be on public display.
Since it’s already been admitted by security officials, as well as personally witnessed recently by newspaper reporters, that the scanners do indeed provide detailed pictures of people’s sexual organs, are Americans going to accept thugs in uniforms staring at their genitals, or are people finally going to say enough is enough and start boycotting the airlines as well as conducting mass protests in resistance to this complete abomination against basic human dignity?

The scanners WILL be scraped. We don’t know when nor exactly how. If you want to speed up the process, get active, get involved.
